Not so long ago, many nonprofit organizations used telethons as a major part of fundraising efforts.

According to a recent post from the Knight Foundation, a lot of nonprofits are beginning to experiment with the idea of “giving days,” a day-long fundraising effort similar to a telethon with a modern twist.

The Knight Foundation invested in the idea with the use of grants, and they’re eager to share what they learned about the strategy’s effectiveness. They reached many conclusions that can likely help organizations that what to try out the idea.

It’s important to set goals, for one, and it’s also worth noting that the events can help raise an organization’s public profile.

If your organization is looking to try out something new with its fundraising efforts, check out the Knight Foundation’s post to learn more about “giving days.”
