501cTECH Elects Three New Board Members from Blackboard, Salesforce Foundation and BAE Systems

Washington, D.C., January 28, 2014—501cTECH, the leading provider of technology services to community based nonprofits in the D.C. Metro Area, has elected three new members to its board: Craig Chanoff, Vice President and General Manager at Blackboard Inc., Brian Komar, Vice President, Marketing at the Salesforce Foundation, and Kristie Cunningham, Senior Vice President at BAE Systems.

Mr. Chanoff is responsible for Blackboard’s Student Service division, delivering virtualized support and technology solutions to higher education institutions.  Blackboard’s comprehensive services – eLearning, student lifecycle management, student engagement and accelerated learning - are used at schools around the world.

As manager of Blackboard’s corporate strategy for client care, Mr. Chanoff leads the charge to enhance Blackboard’s client relationships by ensuring exceptional services for all Blackboard solutions. He has over 15 years of experience in software, relationship management and executive leadership.  In addition to his Blackboard responsibilities, Mr. Chanoff regularly guest lectures at universities on best customer service practices.  He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Decision and Information Systems from the University of Maryland, College Park.

Mr. Komar directs marketing and outreach for the Salesforce Foundation, a social enterprise whose mission to transform the social-sector by leveraging Salesforce.com's people, technology, and resources.  He previously managed Salesforce’s public-sector business unit as an Industry Solutions Director, Government and Campaigns.  In this role, he developed public-sector go-to-market strategy leading to high double-digit growth, managed public-sector field marketing programs, and developed public-sector sales assets.

His articles, “The Obama Majority’s Boulevard of Broken Dreams,” “Culture Before Politics,” and “Intimacy on a Grand Scale: The Art of Social Sales” have been published in The Huffington Post, The American Prospect, and Oracle’s Customer Collective respectively. Before Salesforce, Mr. Komar co-founded NEXT Political Action Committee, served as Director, Strategic Outreach and Alliances at the Center for American Progress and as Director, Strategic Affairs at the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights.  He earned a Masters of Public Policy degree at Georgetown University and a BA, US History from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

As Senior Vice President of Communications at BAE Systems, Inc., Kristie Cunningham is responsible for leading all external and internal communications.  BAE Systems, with more than 40,000 employed globally, is engaged in the development, delivery and support of advanced defense, security and aerospace systems.  Ms. Cunningham is responsible for developing and executing communications strategies and delivering innovative messages across all media and distribution channels.

With over 20 years of experience in developing and executing high-impact communications strategies, Ms. Cunningham previously worked for Northrop Grumman, AOL and MCI WorldCom.  She holds a bachelor’s degree from James Madison University.
