Where Are They Now? - Matt's Journey to Drinker Biddle & Reath

Are you curious as to where some of Tech Impact’s graduates go in their careers? Meet Matt, a Philly Fall 2014 graduate of the ITWorks program who has not only become an IT professional – but has also referred countless friends, family members, and neighbors to the ITWorks program! He’s currently a Service Desk Analyst at Drinker Biddle & Reath, LLP, and one of our pilot Alumni Ambassadors.

After completing his internship at Vitalyst as an ITWorks student, Matt landed a variety of IT positions first with DaVita and then with a Philadelphia law firm. He’s most proud of managing a site migration from a physical server to a virtual server while working on a Sharepoint design project. How impressive is that? Most recently, he joined the Drinker Biddle & Reath team as a Service Desk Analyst. In addition to gaining as much experience as possible, Matt is also pursuing his Associate’s in Computer Science and is planning to graduate this Fall!

Matt has given back to the program that helped him get his foot in the door ever since he left our classroom – referring new students, attending grad panels, and even mentoring current students. As an Ambassador, he is most excited to demonstrate that those who take the time to commit to the ITWorks program can make their career happen regardless of how far that dream might seem. Matt is living proof of that!

What’s up next for Matt? He hopes to move over to his firm’s application team or get a job in programming after completing his Associate’s Degree. We can’t wait to see you reach your next goal, Matt!
