Exploring Innovative Tech And What It Means For Nonprofits

This September, Tech Forward, our annual conference focused on nonprofit technology and its power to support our missions and impact, will head to Chicago to convene nonprofit leaders from across the country. Alongside networking parties, jazz bands, and speakeasy vibes, attendees will gather to share ideas and inspiration around innovative tech in the sector.TF Blog photo 1

Keynoting this year's conference, we're excited to welcome Idris Brewster of Kinfolk, a nonprofit specializing in bringing the underrepresented history of black and brown people to light using technology, with the ultimate mission of uprooting oppressive systems and reconsidering public spaces through art, technology, and storytelling.

Brewster will share his experience building and leading Kinfolk and the development of their flagship Augmented Reality app, which allows anyone with a smartphone the ability to place an AR monument that celebrates and honors history's underrepresented heroes in community centers, local museums, living rooms, and more. His journey is rooted in his belief in the duty nonprofits have to make these technologies accessible to their communities.
