On Friday, November 3, 2017, at the Crystal Tea Room in Philadelphia, Tech Impact will award Capital One with the Community Impact Award. This award is presented each year to an organization that has been an invaluable community partner in supporting Tech Impact’s programs and mission.
Tech Impact, a nonprofit organization, has a mission to empower communities and nonprofits to use technology to better serve our world. Tech Impact’s workforce development programs provide young adults with an opportunity to gain industry recognized certifications and skills that help launch their careers in IT and call center customer service.
Tech Impact is proud to honor Capital One with the Community Impact Award at this year’s Awards Luncheon. For nearly a decade, Capital One has partnered with Tech Impact in advancement of their innovative community programs that support digital literacy, enabling hundreds of young people to begin new careers. Their support to Tech Impact includes pro bono volunteerism, internship opportunities, and financial support. In addition, Heather Joyner, Chief Financial Officer of Strategic Commercial Services at Capital One, recently joined Tech Impact’s board of directors, providing executive engagement.
About the Tech Impact Awards Luncheon
The Awards luncheon is hosted by the Tech Impact Advisory Board and is the premier technology-focused philanthropic event in the Philadelphia area. At this event, over 500 technology and business executives come together and are committed to improving the lives of community. All of the funds raised at the event go directly to supporting Tech Impact’s workforce development programs.
